School Leadership

Michael Rosner has been principal of Vista Horizon Global Academy since its opening in 2019. He began his 30 year career as an educator in 1992, teaching second through sixth grades at Menlo Elementary in South Los Angeles. In 1998, Mr. Rosner moved to Wonderland Avenue School and Gifted Magnet Center where he taught grades three through five for 13 years. When our Superintendent, Dr. Don Wilson, became Wonderland's principal, Mr. Rosner left the classroom to assist him as Wonderland's Gifted Magnet Coordinator and Instructional Coach. In 2013, Mr. Rosner began working at Gardner Street School in Hollywood where he served as principal for the next five years. Throughout his career, Mr. Rosner has mentored aspiring teachers; designed school gardens and outdoor learning spaces; delivered professional development to schools across Southern California; and developed programs which earned state and national recognition for innovation and student achievement. Mr. Rosner brings visionary leadership, a deep understanding of how children learn, years of experience building strong learning communities, and a history of successfully implementing many of our signature practices to Vista Horizon. Mr. Rosner is thrilled to share his passion for learning and dedication to helping schools grow as a member of the Vista Charter Public Schools family.
